What Colleagues are Saying ...

NYCDOE: New York City Department of Education

Sandra uses her personal experiences as an educator and parent to foster an understanding and need for equity in our classrooms today. She cultivates an environment where people feel safe and brave to open up, share and be vulnerable in ways they may have previously shied away from.

With more than two decades as an urban educator advocating for the needs and rights of children, her unique approach makes her an exceptional leader to work with educational leaders of all sorts, teachers, paraprofessionals, principals, superintendents, and at all levels (new, tenured, veteran).

I worked with her in a new school environment, in a diverse community, and I watched in awe as she masterfully navigated difficult conversations with parents and staff as they all worked together to advocate for the changes we need to ensure that all children have access to the education they deserve.

Continuous Improvement Specialist, NJDOE  Former NCYDOE Administrator

I invited Dr. Soto to facilitate professional learning for my teachers.

She presented the important concepts they needed to know to advance practice and had the facility with the content to address questions and gaps in real time. Just as importantly, She equipped me with what I needed to know to evaluate progress. She easily engenders herself to become a member of a team.

- Frantz Lucius,

Principal, PS 249 NYCDOE

"As a teacher leader, I’ve had the privilege of working with Dr. Soto for several years. In that time she has been a great inspiration for me as I advance my career.

Being the visionary that she is,  she guided me to learning opportunities that would help me to grow in the knowledge and skills I needed to excel at my craft. I greatly admire the wealth of knowledge, humility and service that she brings to her leadership. I consider her a great role model and mentor."
