Sandra Beauvoir Soto enjoyed a fulfilling career with the New York City Department of Education before founding RefledEd Consulting. She spent several years in the classroom as a bilingual and E.S.L. teacher before becoming a New Teacher Mentor. Her ability to collaborate with other educators led her to become a Literacy Coach, District Staff Developer and Principal.

In addition to her years in education, Dr. Soto has extensive business experience.   She is a former senior executive for Macy’s New York and an entrepreneur.  She owned an event planning business for several years and later bought the Kinderdance of Brooklyn franchise while on a child care leave from the DOE.  Her husband still owns and runs that company.  Though Dr. Soto has a strong management background, her passion was always education. 

Dr. Soto received her B.A. from Boston College and her M.B.A. from George Washington University. She later earned an M.S. in bilingual education from Long Island University and completed a certification in School Administration and Supervision through the New York City L.E.A.P. program in conjunction with Baruch College.  Dr. Soto received a doctoral degree in Educational Leadership at the Sage Colleges.  Her research focused on gentrification and  supporting students of color in racially diverse schools. 

Dr. Soto started ReflectEd to support leaders and their teams with the hard work of education leadership.  Dr. Soto firmly believes in the transformative power of reflection and scholarly discourse to promote continuous growth and actualization. “My heart’s desire is for the leaders I work with to know that they are enough for the work before them today.  If they are willing, they can develop the capacity to be everything they need to meet the demands of tomorrow.”
